5. Made

Made was the brand created by Benji and Joel Madden of the band Good Charlotte. In college I sought out an internship at Seacrest Studios at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a multimedia studio that produced radio type programming that was broadcast throughout the hospital. The studio also welcomed many celebrity guests while I was an intern, and then a volunteer, for nearly four years. One evening, my boss at the studio forwarded me a confirmation from the person responsible for booking guests at the studio, that Benji and Joel Madden were confirmed to visit on August 21st, 2014. My response was in all caps, “OOOOOOHHHHHHH MY GOD” . When they visited, I was the one responsible for conducting the interview. I pretty much blacked out, and remember very few specifics of it, but was complimented on my ability to maintain composure despite being in the presence of two human beings that were immensely impactful on my life. I even got a photo with them.
